Many years ago, when I was travelling through Central America with a photographer friend, we heard about an amazing Doctor who’d given up his practice in Kansas to open a Clinic for 200,000 Maya Indians living in the remote Guatemalan Highlands. We immediately saw the possibility of a great story, so we travelled up to his Clinic in Chimaltenango where he kindly allowed us to spend a few days shadowing him and seeing just how much he’d helped transform their lives.
